Cemented/tungsten carbide, is an alloy made of hard compounds of refractory metals (tungsten carbide, titanium carbide, tantalum carbide, niobium carbide) and bonded metals (cobalt, nickel, iron) through a powder-metallurgical process.
Based on their chemical composition, cemented carbides can be classified into three categories: Tungsten Cobalt Carbide, Tungsten Cobalt Titanium Carbide and Tungsten Titanium Tantalum(niobium) Carbide, all of which differ in physical performance, production methods and applications.

The following is the basic information of Tungsten Cobalt Carbide.
Tungsten Cobalt Carbide, is an alloy made of WC powder and cobalt powder, in which the content of tungsten is generally above 80%, while the content of cobalt is within 20%. It is worth mentioning that the grade, mechanical property index and usage of Tungsten Cobalt Carbide will be different when the ratio of raw material is different.
Tungsten Cobalt Carbide
The basic characteristics of tungsten cobalt carbide include high density, high hardness, good red-hardness, high TRS, good wear resistance and good high temperature resistance. However, it is important to note that the mechanical properties of different grades of tungsten cobalt carbide are different. Generally speaking, as the tungsten content increases,or in other words, the cobalt content decreases, the density and hardness of tungsten cobalt carbide are higher, while the TRS, compressive strength and toughness are worse.Conversely,as the cobalt content increases, the tungsten content decreases, the better the toughness of the carbide and the worse the wear resistance.
